All Standard reports under one transaction code SAP1

Reporting is one the important features in SAP. SAP has built lot of standard reports in order to solve the basic benefits of the customers to avoid custom developments.

In reality due to complex business processes we tend to build custom reports for customers but in case of any issues, we tend to compare the standard SAP report with custom build report, to confirm whether the values are populated correctly from the tables or there are any selection issues and list goes on.

In this blog, I would like to share a special transaction provided by SAP to identify the list of Standard Reports available for each module.

Are you aware SAP has provided a transaction SAP1? If no, then below is for your information.

Whenever we login into SAP, SAP Easy Access or User Menu will be displayed. To check the reports first we should know the transaction or navigate the structure in the respective module.

Report 1.JPG

Now Go to Transaction SAP1 in transaction code area and Press Enter

It opens a screen SAP Easy Access – Report Selection

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/report3_887288.jpg

If we drill down Plant Maintenance – Management of Technical Objects

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/report4_887289.jpg

This will list out the transaction based on Technical Objects.

As an additional example, if we want to see PR / PO reports available in MM Structure.

Drilling down Materials Management – Purchasing – Purchase Requisition / Purchase Order

To return back to SAP Easy Access Menu, Click the highlighted below

Similarly, you will be able to get all reporting transactions in one place. This transaction will reduce the dependency towards other module consultant or raising SCN thread to identify reports.

More you explore,

More you learn &

More you will use SAP

Copy Resources in SAP TM

 Dear friends of SAP TM,

In this blog post, we will talk about the transaction for maintaining the resource master (/SCMTMS/RES01) and the different ways how resources can be created with copy functionalities in SAP S/4HANA.

Let’s start with this copy button at the start screen:

After pressing, this leads you to the following detail screen:

Here, you enter name, description and may be the location of the new resource and you have different options, from where the data of the new resource should be copied:

  • Copy a vehicle resource which you can choose by means of transport
  • Copy a handling resource which you can choose by template type
  • Or enter a particular resource which should be copied

After pressing button ‘Copy Resource’, the new resource is then created by taking over some of the  the data of the resource to be copied.

So, this is pretty easy when you exactly know your resources and you ‘just’ want to create a similar one. But imagine, you need to check the data of your template resources first or you need to adjust the data of the new resource. Therefore, there’s another copy button on the screen for the resources detailed data, offering the options to copy either a single resource or to create a bunch of them:

As you see in this screenshot, you can copy one individual resource which is pretty much the same than what you have seen before on the start screen of the transaction. After pressing the copy button in the lower right corner of the popup, you see the template resource along with the new one:

Now, you could adjust the new one with its individual data, e.g. by adding the license plate, in case it’s a truck, and save it.

But, there’s also the option to make multiple copies:

Imagine, you have created one truck of a certain type but your fleet has several other trucks of the same kind. Rather than pressing the copy button several times, you can create them all at once. Thereby, they all will have similar names, distinguished by a counter.

So, you can provide the following information:

  • Starting number of the counter
  • How many copies you need
  • ‘Basic name’ of the resources to which the counter will be added as suffix.

And again, after pressing the copy button in the lower´right part of the popup, the resources are created:

And guess what…again you can adjust the individual data of the copied resources.

That was it about copying resources. There’s one button left which copies data from the customizing of equipment groups and types to the currently edited resource:

But this one has already been explained in this blog post.

Hope this helps you setting up your resources efficiently! Appreciate any comments!

Best regards,

Michael

SAP Warehouse Operator – A New iPhone Application for the Warehouse

Let’s have a look at the current challenges in the warehouse as wells as the key capabilities and technical details of the new Warehouse Operator app.

The new SAP Warehouse Operator app for the iPhone addresses many of the challenges that we see today in the warehouse. The e-commerce effect leads to changes in order profiles and massive increases in volume. Lead times for fulfilment have drastically decreased, while accuracy has to be guaranteed. The locations of warehouse have moved closer to large urban areas for e-commerce delivery. Thus the warehouse rents are at an all-time high. Also a demographic-change can be observed for warehouse operators. Career warehouse workers retire, while short-term workers take their place.

As a Warehouse Operator, you want one mobile solution that supports in all of your daily tasks ranging from unloading to picking, packing & shipping. SAP Warehouse Operator optimizes business processes and workflows to minimize unnecessary user interaction steps by leveraging the latest on-device technologies.

Why move towards iPhones in the warehouse?

At the same time, Smartphones are now a commodity. We want to enable Warehouse Operators to use the devices they already know and love instead of training them on purpose built devices they would never otherwise want to use.

The iPhone has transformed the mobile phone business and every upgrade to the latest iOS version unleashes new features and gives us greater “speed to innovation”. Deploying a variety of iPhones in the supply chain all running the same OS allows us to quickly adopt new platform features and deploy them across the enterprise. Buying expensive purpose built devices that are meant to run for seven to ten years lock us into seven to ten years of no new innovation.

Key capabilities of SAP Warehouse Operator

Key capabilities of SAP Warehouse Operator Version 1.0 include:

  • Guide user on next warehouse task: Allow user to login and select a resource (e.g. forklift) to work with.  Show next warehouse order for resource. Start next warehouse task within order.
  • Scan barcodes fast, efficiently & accurately. Instantly read barcodes even in low light and from distance. Handle blurry and damaged barcodes as well as small and unusual barcodes.
  • Support Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) picking process: Pick items from a source bin and move them to a destination bin.
  • Support EWM putaway process: Putaway pallets from the goods receipt area to a destination bin.

All SAP EWM customers running SAP S/4HANA On-Premise 2021 can simply use the SAP Warehouse Operator app.

Prerequisite for downloading and installing the SAP Warehouse Operator application from the Apple App Store is an iPhone 11 or newer running iOS 14 and above.

On the server-side SAP Warehouse Operator integrates with SAP Mobile Services, SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP S/4HANA On-Premise 2021.

Typically, the system administrator in your company will configure SAP Mobile Services using the administration user interface and create the API destinations to the relevant warehouse APIs.  The system administrator would then share an onboarding QR-Code with the users of the app in your company.

You can then simply download the app from the Apple App Store, install it on your phone and directly try out the demo mode, which works without connecting to a backend. As an alternative, you may of course onboard to the application by scanning the QR-code and logging into your SAP customer subaccount.

Now, you can use Warehouse Operator for your daily warehouse tasks on your favorite device.
