UX for S/4 HANA virtual bootcamp – What key topics should be considered to deliver a UX for S/4HANA Project

SAP Fiori is the re-imagined and improved user experience for SAP S/4HANA; it encompasses significant productivity improvements via innovations (e.g. exception-based processing through machine learning) and simplifications (i.e. a more precise fit of the user interface to the task & business role).
There are 2 facts that customers need to understand wrt implementing SAP Fiori:
  • it is not a replacement for SAP GUI. Customers need to implement the apps that gives the most value to their business processes.
  • implementing SAP Fiori is more than simply activating standard apps; there are specialised tasks involved to personalise the solution and to unlock the delightful UX.
Legacy ECC implementations only required setting up authorizations to allow users to access the SAP GUI transactions that are relevant for them. SAP Fiori leverages concepts such as role based access to standard apps designed for specific task execution, machine learning, SAP CoPilot, insights to action paradigm, improved workflows, mobile access etc. It needs careful consideration by UX experts to determine the right type and number of apps required for each user role. Other considerations include extending standard apps, creating custom apps, extending transactions where SAP Fiori apps are not available using Screen Personas, setting up user roles, security, and whether mobile devices are in scope etc to name a few.
UX&Mobile SAP Consulting Practice have compiled UX for SAP S/4HANA Virtual Bootcamp; which is a series of short videos that describes the key topics to be considered to plan and deliver a great UX for SAP S/4HANA. Target audience for these videos are customers who are considering transformation to SAP S/4HANA or are already in project execution mode.
