SAP S/4 HANA EWM-Advanced Production Integration

 Introduction

The production stocks are only managed in SAP EWM, and are, therefore, transparent in the SAP EWM system only. When staging the products, the system does not execute a posting change.

Advanced production integration allows you to integrate the supply of products to production and the receipt of products from production into your warehouse in S/4HANA Embedded Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). It is integrated with the manufacturing order processing in SAP S/4HANA and allows you to stage and consume the materials and receive the semi-finished products or finished products in S/4HANA Embedded EWM.

The warehouse execution for the SAP S/4HANA Production Orders is based on the Production Material Request (PMR) document.

Process Flow

To achieve this we have to go with following steps

1)Create 2 raw materials with MRP View Mandatory

2)Create 1 Finished material with MRP view & work Scheduling view Mandatory

3)Create a storage location which is EWM Managed storage location

4)Assign Storage location to warehouse and plant in Enterprise Structure

5)Create production supply area in S/4 HANA

6)Create work center in S/4 HANA

7)create a Bill of Materials(BOM) for Finished product

8)Create Routing for Finished product

9)Create control cycles in S/4 HANA for Raw Materials

10)Define Production supply Area in EWM

11)Create a custom stock type

12)Define Availability group

13)Configure stock type XY with availability group X04

14)Map storage location in Goods Movement

15)Maintain Stock Determination Groups & Determine stock Determination

16)Define Product group types

17)Define Product group

18)Maintain product group type and product group in EWM at global level

19)Maintain BC Sets

20)Maintain Product Group Type for PSA Assignment

21)Maintain Warehouse Parameters for Production

22)Map SAP ERP Order Type to SAP EWM Document Type

23)Map SAP ERP Order Type to SAP EWM Item Type

24)Assign bin to PSA/Product/PED(/N/SCWM/PSASTAGE)

25)Define Production supply area storage type(PMRL with role ‘K’) and create bin

26.a&b) maintain Warehouseprocess type for both single order and cross order components

27)Determine warehouse process type for Single order and cross order along with Document type and Item type

28)Testing

configuration

1)Create 2 raw materials with MRP view Mandatory

  • 440—single order
  • 441—-Cross order

2)Create 1 Finished materials with MRP view & work Scheduling view Mandatory

  • 444

Extend the raw materials to PMRSL sloc in TCode:MMSC

3)Created a PMRL in enterprise structure(Tcode:OX09)

4)Map Storage location to warehouse and plant in Enterprise Structure

5)Create production supply area in S/4 HANA

Tcode:PK05

6)Create work center in S/4 HANA

Tcode:CR01

7)create a Bill of Materials(BOM) for Finished product

Tcode:CS01

8)Create Routing for Finished product

Give the Routing number in Finished product in Material Master in work Scheduling View: 50000009

9)Create control cycles in S/4 HANA for Raw Materials

Material -440 Single order staging

  • Single order staging – Individual production order material request processed for manufacturing components.

Material –441 cross order staging

  • Cross-order staging – Multiple manufacturing orders components requests considered palnned based on required production quantities.

EWM Configuration

10)Define PSA

Define production supply area Tcode- /n/SCWM/PSA

Path:EASY ACCESS–>SCM EWM–>EWM—>Master Data—>Production Supply Area—>Define PSA

There are two types of mapping 1)replicate or manual you can map

1)Replicate

/n /SCWM/PSA_REPLICATE – Replicate Production Supply Area (PSA)

2)Manual

/n/scwm/psamap

11)Create a custom stock type

Path:SPRO–>SCM EWM–>SCM BASIS–>Logistics Inventory Management Engine (LIME)–> Application-Specific Settings–>Determine Stock Type

12)Define Availability group

Path:SPRO–>IMG–>SCM EWM–>EWM–>GOODS RECEIPT PROCESS–>CONFIGURE AVAILABILITY GROUP FOR PUTAWAY–>DEFINE AVAILABILITY GROUP

13)Configure stock type XY with availability group X04

Path:SPRO–>IMG–>SCM EWM–>EWM–>GOODS RECEIPT PROCESS–>CONFIGURE AVAILABILITY GROUP FOR PUTAWAY–> Configure Stock Type

Assign the availability group to the custom storage type

14)Map storage location in Goods Movement

Path:SPRO–>SCM Extended Warehouse Management–>Extended Warehouse Management—- Interfaces–>ERP Integration–>Goods Movements—>Map Storage Locations from ERP System to EWM

15)Maintain Stock Determination Groups

Path:SPRO–>IMG–>SCM EWM–>CROSS PROCESS SETTINGS–>STOCK DETERMINATION-Maintain Stock Determination Groups

Configure Stock Determination

16)Define Product Group Types-

Path:Spro->IMG–>SCM EWM–>SCM Basis–>master data–>product —>product groups–>define product group types

17)Define product groups

Path:Spro–>IMG-SCM EWM–>SCM Basis–>master data–>product-–>product groups–>define product group

18)Maintain product group type and product group in EWM at global level

Single order Component

Cross order Component

19)Maintain BC sets

TCODE:SCPR20

20)Maintain Product Group Type for PSA Assignment

Path: SPRO–>SCM Extended Warehouse Management–>EWM–>Master Data–> Production Supply–> Maintain Product Group Type for PSA Assignment

21)Maintain Warehouse Parameters for Production

Path: SPRO–>SCM Extended Warehouse Management–>EWM–>Master Data–> Production Supply–> Maintain Warehouse Parameters for Production

22)Map SAP ERP Order Type to SAP EWM Document Type

SPRO-IMG-SCM EWM-EWM-INTERFACES-ERP INTEGRATION-PRODUCTION- Map SAP ERP Order Type to SAP EWM Document Type

23)Map SAP ERP Order Type to SAP EWM Item Type

SPRO-IMG-SCM EWM-EWM-INTERFACES-ERP INTEGRATION-PRODUCTION- Map SAP ERP Order Type to SAP EWM Item Type

24)Assign bin to PSA/Product/PED

Here Single order staging we are using 2100 Warehouseprocess type

Here cross order staging we are using customized P310 warehouse process type

25)Create a  Storage Bin for PMRL  Storage type

Here we are using Production Staging Area storage type with Storage type role(K) is PMRL

26.a)In Warehouse process type(2100) we should not define Destination storage type and bin because we are staging at EWM system for single order staging

26.b)In Warehouse process type(P310) we should not define Destination storage type and bin because we are staging at EWM system for Cross order staging

27)Determine warehouse process type for Single order and cross order along with Document type and Item type

28)Stock Removal Strategies

Testing

To Create Production order

Co01

Give the total Quantity and scheduling type is current

Click on Operations and check the work center and control key has assigned in production order

Click on components check the components which are required to become a finished product

Click on materials check whether the materials are available for these production order

Click on release and save it

In CO02

Click on functions Do the materials staging—Select Simulate

While simulating the materials please check the material staging indicator is correctly triggering or not

After Simulating then Execute it and save it and we will get material staging was successfully executed

In EWM system

Check whether PMR document is created in EWM system with respect to manufacturing order

/N/SCWM/PMR

PMR Document header details

For Receiving Product item details

Single order Component item details

Cross order Component item details

Staging in EWM:we need to stage the product at EWM Production staging area

/N/SCWM/STAGE

Its warning Message

2warehouse tasks got created

Go to monitor

/N/SCWM/MON

1)Single order components

Here we need single order components will be consumed based on production order

2)Cross order components

Here for cross order components there will be no manufacturing number refernce.the components will be consumed based on combination of multiple Manufacturing orders. If we try to give manufacturing order with warehouse type system will not execute the open warehouse tasks

Confirm the warehouse tasks & warhouse orders

PICK HU is mandatory

Single order component warehouse order

Cross order component warehouse order

Now Products are available at EWM Production Staging area.We need to consume the products

Go to /N/SCWM/RFUI and select outbound process

Select consumption

Select Manufacturing order

Enter Manufacturing order

If you are aware of HU number you can give or else we can give Production staging area BIN

Click on enter

Same for Single order Component

Click on enter

We need to check once the consumption has been done another warehouse task need to be trigger automatically for Goods issue

Single order component

Same for Cross order component

Check whether the goods issue has been happened in MB51

We can see the material documents got generated for these two materials

Now we need to change the production order status from released to technically completed

Release status:

Go to Production order in CO02 and click on Complete Technicaly

We can see the production order status is technically completed

Conclusion:By above configurations and testing now you got an idea how to do Advance production Integration with SAP EWM-managed storage location in one warehouse in SAP EWM
