Storage bin creation methods in SAP-EWM.

 Introduction:

As a SAP-EWM consultant, we know the various methods to create the storage bins in the system but we should know when to use which method.

Storage bins can be created in the system through below methods.

1) Bin Creation through Bin structure—–/N/SCWM/LS10

2) Manual Bin Creation —–/N/SCWM/LS01

3) Storage bin Upload through Uploading tool——-/N/SCWM/SBUP

 

•  Need to create only few bins in a storage type then go with Manual bin creation method

Ex: Bin creation in work centers, staging areas and General storage types.

• Hundreds and thousands of bins need to be created though Aisle, stack and level structure with same size of the bin in the storage type and section , then go through Bin structure. ( with this method cant create the different sizes of the bins in same storage type and section through same structure)
• Hundreds and thousands of bins need to be created with different sizes of the bin, with different sections in storage type or Legacy system bins needs to be created in SAP- EWM as it is,  then also go with Bin upload tool. ( All Bin numbers should be unique irrespective of any storage type).

 

1) Create the bins by Bin structure.

PATH :- SPRO à SAP REFERENCE IMG à SCM EXTENDED WHREHOUSE MANAGEMENT à EXTENDED WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT à MASTER DATA à STORAGE BINS à DEFINE STORAGE BIN STRUCTURE.

 

The information from the warehouse to create the bins are

Aisle- 01 to 10

Stacks-01 to10

Levels- 01 to10

Bin structure given like JK20-Aisel-Stack-Level.

And bin number starts with JK20-01-01-01 and ends with JK20-10-10-10.

Increments of aisle, stack and level are 01,01,01.

( xyz coordinates and alignments are not mandatory fields)

If you see above structure we can create the all bins with one Storage bin type (J1) we cant fit multiple storage bin types in one structure.

1.2) create multiple bins through bin structure:- T.CODE  /N/SCWM/LS10

Through above structure we can create 1000 bins as shown above . (10*10*10).

1.3) To check the bins :- T.CODE -/N/SCWM/MON

2) Manual Bin Creation —–/N/SCWM/LS01

Input bin warehouse number, bin number, storage type, section and bin type as below.

And save it.

 

2.2) Check the bin in mon :- /N/SCWM/MON

3) Storage bin Upload through Uploading tool——-/N/SCWM/SBUP

3.1) Fill the CSV file as below ( you can import the template from T code-/N/SCWM/SBUP)

3.1) Upload the CSV file in T Code :- /N/SCWM/SBUP
